Don’t put Bielema on the firing line
Even with a day to “cool off,” plenty of Wisconsin fans are steaming mad at Bret Bielema.
I get that.
For many in Badger Nation, hating Bielema is a default setting. They don’t like the brush cut or the brusque persona, which prompted my colleague, Bill Johnson, to compare the coach to Biff from “Back to the Future.”
Some people don’t like the way Bielema recruits. Many -- and I mean many -- quibble with his handling of things like special teams and clock management.
A lot of people rip him for wearing a red pullover.

Crist to transfer from Irish; Badgers an option?
The Chicago Tribune reported late Saturday night that Crist has asked for, and been granted a release from, his Notre Dame scholarship. The decision to transfer was finalized late last week following a conversation between Crist and head coach Brian Kelly.
“Dayne and I had a good conversation Friday and I have granted him permission to speak to other schools,” Kelly told the Tribune. “Dayne has been a valuable member of our team the last two years and if he feels he needs to look for a better situation then I think we owe that to him.”More »
