The Walker campaign’s adventures on Twitter
I'm always interested to see how politicians use the Internet in an election year. Back in 2008, the Obama campaign was lauded for using the Internet as a big fundraising tool. Personally, I thought they were shortchanging the power of the Internet.
I have noticed a few campaigns using Google Ad Words and now this is an example of a campaign using promoted tweets. I'd say it's a "nice" example, except that whoever wrote the tweet clearly knows nothing about Twitter. On Twitter, "#" is not acceptable shorthand for "numbers". So, what the Walker campaign is actually doing here is spending money to get the hashtag "s" trending. Um, okay. That's even worse than Aaron Rodgers' drunk #hashtag the other weekend. More »
