Dumb Lawyer Ads: Jeff Zarzynski, the Bully
No doubt this was created as cutting edge, attention grabbing and humorous. Well, it is attention grabbing. Like a horrific car crash, or a deadly beating. My guess is that Zarzynski would argue that it's meant to be funny. My guess is that it will appeal to a simplistic and cynical portion of the population, who thinks that this reflects the type of lawyer they want, one who will get them money without regard to anything else, because this is the concept of the system that lawyer advertising tends to foster. Edina boutique takes heat for trashing $4,000-plus gowns
If you're going to spray red paint on a $4,000-plus wedding dress and toss it in a trash bin, you might want to do it unwitnessed in the dark of night. Priscilla of Boston, a high-end bridal boutique in Edina that went out of business last week, found that out the hard way as cellphone video of an employee throwing out several expensive dresses made the rounds online and on TV, sparking public dismay at the waste -- and at the sight of shoppers Dumpster-diving for spoils.. . -

A multiple Christmas tree trend is being pushed by (you guessed it) the folks in the business of selling Christmas trees.
What, you only buy one Christmas tree? How un-festive. That’s barely celebrating the holiday at all. Haven’t you heard that everybody gets two (or more) trees nowadays?

Study: Nearly 80 percent of college students can’t figure out QR codes
According to a recent study conducted by youth marketing company Archrival, the majority of college students with smartphones have no idea how to scan a QR (Quick-Response) code. The study was conducted with over 500 college students across 24 different college campuses. While 81 percent of students owned a smartphone and 80 percent were familiar with the concept of a QR code, only 21 percent were able to scan a provided QR code when asked. Of the 79 percent that were unable to scan the code, some tried and ultimately gave up while others attempted to take a picture of the code with the built-in camera. Others complained of the process taking too long and some students didn’t want to download an app to scan it. More »
